On the 21st of August 1879, at “approximately 8 o’clock in the evening, fifteen people from the village of Knock in Co. Mayo, witnessed an Apparition of Our Lady, St. Joseph, St. John the Evangelist, a Lamb and cross on an altar at the gable wall of the Parish Church. The witnesses watched the Apparition in the pouring rain for two hours, reciting the Rosary.” (See https://www.knockshrine.ie/history/ (accessed 9 February 2018))
We entrust the Spiritual Transformation apostolate (hereafter ST) to Our Lady of Knock. We pray that she will help transform Irish hearts so that they will recognise their dignity as children of God. May Mary, the Queen of Ireland be the Queen of our hearts. In the Novena prayer to Our Lady of Knock, we say that Mary “gave hope to her people in a time of distress and comforted them in sorrow.” We pray that Mary will also be with all those who participate in the ST programme and will comfort us at times when our spiritual transformation journey becomes difficult.
